Spencer Petras gives Iowa first-half lead with pair of TDs vs. Purdue

Spencer Petras found TE Sam LaPorta for a 16-yard TD to begin the 2nd quarter. The TD put Iowa ahead of Purdue 7-0.

The pass was just the 4th passing TD of the season for Petras and was the 1st receiving TD of the season for LaPorta.

Petras was not done throwing TD passes in the 2nd quarter. Not even 2 minutes of game time later, Petras connected with WR Nico Ragaini for a 29-yard TD.

Coming into the Week 10 matchup, Petras had just 3 passing TDs on the season. It is still shy of halftime in Week 10, and Petras already has 2 passing TDs. The Week 10 game will be the first with multiple passing TDs the season for Petras.

In the 2nd quarter, the Hawkeyes lead the Boilermakers 14-0.
