Nebraska becomes final Power 5 program remaining in disappointing stat since 2017 season

Nebraska’s postseason absence is well known. Unfortunately, one stat paints an even bleaker picture than it already is for the Huskers.
Nebraska and Kansas entered Week 10 as the only Power 5 teams not to go to a postseason bowl game since 2017. That includes the likes of Rutgers, Illinois, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Colorado.
Kansas upset No. 18 Oklahoma State 37-16 to get its sixth win of the season in Week 10 to become bowl eligible.
Every Power 5 program has been to a bowl game since 2017 except for two: Kansas and Nebraska.
And the Jayhawks are going bowling.

Kansas has not won more than 5 games in a season since 2008 when the Jayhawks finished with an overall record of 8-5. From 2009 to 2021, Kansas accumulated an overall record of 28-125.
Nebraska suffered its sixth loss of the season, losing 20-13 at home to Minnesota. Minnesota accounted for 33 more total yards than Nebraska 300-to-267. The Huskers are set to go on the road to take on No. 4 Michigan in Week 11.
After Nebraska started the season with a 1-2 record, Scott Frost was fired while in his fifth year. Passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph took over as the interim head coach.
From 2017 to this season, Nebraska has accumulated an overall record of 22-42. Moving forward, the Huskers will need to win out in order to hit the traditional 6-win mark needed for bowl eligibility.
