Urban Meyer still confident in Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett after Week 2 struggles

Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett didn’t have the strongest performance in the Buckeyes’ Week 2 loss to Oklahoma, accounting for zero total touchdowns.
Barrett completed only 19 of his 35 passes for 183 yards, no scores and one interception, and carried the ball 18 times for 66 yards.
That led to some fans questioning whether the Buckeyes should replace the struggling senior, but on Monday, coach Urban Meyer gave Barrett a vote of confidence.
Meyer said Barrett will remain Ohio State’s starting quarterback for the foreseeable future:
Meyer: "It's not even a question" that Barrett is the best for the job.

Meyer: 'You think of a quarterback and it's so much more than throwing." Said gap is still big between Barrett and others.

Meyer added that Barrett’s confidence was shaken a bit after the disappointing loss, but said he’s reassured the senior that he’s still Ohio State’s starting quarterback:
Meyer said he did talk to Barrett and reassure him, but said that's part of his normal protocol.

With games against Army and UNLV the next two weeks, Barrett should have a chance to get his confidence back before the Buckeyes resume Big Ten play in three weeks.
