Week 10 of the college football season is in the books, and the B1G schedule rolls merrily on into prime rivalry season throughout November. Coming out of the weekend, a number of results also continue to shape the race toward Indianapolis.

In the B1G West, Illinois was shockingly upset by unranked Michigan State. While Chase Brown did have 100 yards, the Illini had some crucial mistakes and are now in a crucial stretch with a must-win game in Week 11 against Purdue.

In the East, Michigan and Ohio State survived some early scares against Rutgers and Northwestern, respectively. The Buckeyes especially struggled in wild conditions in Evanston before pulling out a 21-7 win with CJ Stroud held in check during the game.

Coming out of the weekend, these are the players to land the B1G’s Player of the Week honors for Week 10:

Offensive Player of the Week/Freshman of the Week

  • RB Kaleb Johnson, Iowa

Kaleb Johnson lands dual honors from the B1G this week after an incredible 200-yard performance against Purdue. Johnson became the first Hawkeye freshman since 2010 with multiple 100-yard games and produced a 75-yard touchdown run in the win.

Defensive Player of the Week

  • LB Cal Haladay, Michigan State

Haladay finished Michigan State’s road upset of Illinois with 9 tackles and a career-high of 3.5 TFL. Haladay continued his streak of 7 straight games with 6+ tackles for the defense while the Spartans held Illinois to 153 yards rushing in Week 10.

Special Teams Player of the Week

  • K Matthew Trickett, Minnesota

Trickett made a pair of field goals in the comeback win over Nebraska with kicks from 47 and 49 yards, his longest kicks of the season. He also went 2-for-2 on PATs to produce 8 of Minnesota’s 20 total points.
