Jim Harbaugh told the press that he expects an update this week concerning the police investigation surrounding the tunnel incident involving Michigan State.
“(I) was told that we’d probably hear something this week,” Harbaugh said per mlive’s Aaron McMann.
Following the game in October, two Michigan defensive backs Gemon Green and Ja’Den McBurrows allegedly were attacked by Michigan State players in the Ann Arbor stadium’s tunnel. During the incident, someone was filming the incident which then later went viral.
Green was able to travel to Rutgers this past weekend while McBurrows did not. Green has reportedly retained attorney Tom Mars and looks to be pursuing legal recourse for the attack.
Harbaugh has made numerous comments about the attack and called it “sickening to watch.” He asked for “serious consequences” to be imposed because of how and why it allegedly happened.
Michigan State as 8 players suspended indefinitely as a result of the incident pending the conclusion of the investigation. Once that is wrapped up, it will be interesting to see how the Spartans deal with those 8 players and if any others are added to the mix.
