Despite Fields having a record-breaking performance, the Bears fell short to the Miami Dolphins, 35-32. Even with the loss, Fields was praised for his production. He broke the single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 178 yards. He accounted for a total of 4 touchdowns and passed for 123 yards. Fields completed 60.7% of his passes.
This was Fields’ best game in the NFL and he proved that he could give the Bears a chance to win the game. The loss did not impact Fields’ candidacy for the Offensive Player of the Week.
On the other side of the ball, Joseph helped secure a win for the Lions against the Green Bay Packers. Joseph finished the game with 2 interceptions, 3 pass deflections, and 10 tackles. It was a strong performance on defense from Joseph and he bolstered the Lions’ defensive effort.
Ohio State and Illinois were well represented in Week 9.
