Keagan Johnson has had a tough season. The wide receiver hasn’t played much for an Iowa team that could use consistent offense this year.
According to Iowa WR coach Kelton Copeland, Johnson is still trying to return to games for the Hawkeyes this season. Copeland revealed Johnson was on the field practicing Wednesday.

Johnson has just 2 receptions for 11 yards this season. Both of those catches happened way back in September against Nevada. Johnson has been battling what is described as a “nagging injury” by Kirk Ferentz. The Nebraska native had 18 receptions for 352 yards and 2 touchdowns a season ago.
It appears Johnson will not see the field anytime soon. His return could have given Iowa more momentum after two straight victories. The Hawkeyes have scored 33 and 24 points in that span. With a 5-4 record, Iowa still has a chance to make a bowl game after a rough start to the year.
The Hawkeyes stood at 3-4 (1-3 B1G) before turning the corner against Northwestern and Purdue. Iowa faces Wisconsin on Saturday. Let’s see if they can string some more wins together to give Johnson a chance to play.
