Nick Herbig is having an exceptional season for the Wisconsin Badgers. The junior linebacker is leading the B1G in sacks, with 8.0.
Herbig had an impressive 2021 season as well. In 2021, Herbig led the Badgers with 9 sacks and also contributed 64 tackles and 14.5 tackles for loss. Even with the impressive numbers, Herbig felt like he could have performed even better.
In 2022, Herbig is capitalizing on the plays he missed last season.
“I think it’s just finishing,” Herbig said. “Last season, I left a lot of plays on the table. I still have (this season). But I think I got better at finishing. I am seizing the opportunity.”
Herbig is hoping that the Iowa game will go like it did last season. He had 2.5 sacks and 6 total tackles against the Hawkeyes in 2021.
“I am humble, you know, I don’t want to say much,” Herbig said. “But you saw what happens when they don’t block me. I am fine if they don’t want to block me again. I am all for it.”
Herbig has a chance to add to his B1G-leading sack total in Week 11 when the Badgers take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
