Penn State head coach James Franklin spoke Wednesday night on the week-to-week injury status of star offensive lineman Olu Fashanu, saying his availability has nothing to do with preserving his draft stock.
Fashanu was injured in Penn State’s loss to Ohio State on Oct. 29.
Franklin says Olu Fashanu’s NFL Draft stock won’t impact his availability.
“Right now it’s strictly a medical decision, based on where our doctors… feel like he is.”

The redshirt freshman is ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft and the No. 1 offensive tackle. ESPN’s Mel Kiper has Fashanu as the No. 23 overall prospect.
Penn State is back in action this weekend against Maryland at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 on FOX.
