Taulia Tagovailoa is a talented QB in his own right, but is still motivated by his older brother Tua’s NFL success.

Tua Tagovailoa is an SEC legend, having led Alabama to a national championship in 2018. Tua was drafted by the Dolphins fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. Since then, he has racked up over 7,000 yards passing, 87 passing TDs, 348 rushing yards and 9 rushing TDs. Tua became the first Miami QB to throw for 350 yards, at least 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions while also completing at least 80 percent of his passes this year against the Lions.

It is Tua’s NFL that Taulia admires the most, saying that seeing his brother on Sunday provides him “fuel” in his own games.

Taulia has made the best of the motivation his brother gives him, leading Maryland to another bowl eligible season this year. The QB has thrown for 2,078 yards and 14 TDs already this season, and is close to breaking the Maryland all-time record for passing yards. He needs just 353 yards to pass Scott Milanovich (1992-95), who threw for 7,301 yards. Just 3 more TDs and Taulia will surpass the Maryland record as well.
