Wisconsin drops intense hype trailer for Heartland Trophy showdown vs. Iowa

Wisconsin is looking to maintain control of the Heartland Trophy in the rivalry series vs. Iowa. The Badgers will have to do that on the road this season with a big matchup in Kinnick Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Playing on the road is the theme of this week’s hype video for the big-time B1G West matchup. Titled “Bring the fight to them,” the video includes a fiery speech from Jim Leonhard to the team.

Since 2013, the Badgers have won 7 of 9 meetings for the Heartland Trophy, including a string of 4 straight wins from 2016-19. Iowa retook the trophy during the 2020 season but Wisconsin rolled to a 27-7 win last season.

This time around, Leonhard will get his first shot as head coach of the Badgers for the rivalry series. He has Wisconsin trending up since taking the helm as the interim coach, but Kirk Ferentz’s Iowa squad is also finding its groove in November.

We’ll see which side comes out on top this time around. Kickoff is set up for 3:30 pm ET on FS1.
