Penn State has been the No. 3 team in the B1G the entire season.

The Nittany Lions have had a respectable season, with losses only to top 4 teams in Michigan and Ohio State. They’re 8-2 and looking to finish the season with 10 wins for the first time since 2019.

They’re also looking to earn a New Year’s 6 bid for the first time since 2019, a fate that is very likely if the Nittany Lions can take care of business against Rutgers and Michigan State.

Rutgers is hanging on to any remaining hope of achieving bowl eligibility. They’re sitting at 4-6 on the season with just 2 games remaining. There’s no room for error against Penn State and Maryland next week.

Problem is, neither of those games are favorable for the Scarlet Knights in their quest for their first 6-win season since 2014. They’re also looking to avoid a 4-game losing streak. Rutgers has lost 6 of their last 7 games.

ESPN’s FPI doesn’t like their chances either. The predictive metric gives Penn State a 91.3% chance of taking care of business against the Scarlet Knights.

The game is set for 3:30 p.m. EST in Piscataway. The game is to be aired on the Big Ten Network.
