Heather Dinich provided her thoughts on Michigan’s mentality heading into this week’s Illinois game.
Running back Blake Corum is a key part of the Wolverines’ offense and could be a contender for the Heisman, while Illinois has the top pass defense and No. 3 rush defense. This will be an interesting game that should not be written off, yet.
While on ESPN’s “Get Up!” Wednesday morning, Dinich weighed in on the undefeated Michigan football team and how the Wolverines are probably not even worried about the Illinois match-up this Saturday, but they should be.
There’s so much focus on the running game and deservedly so. Blake Corum should be in the running for the Heisman, their offensive line is one of the best in the country, but Illinois has the No. 1 pass defense in the country, the No. 3 rushing defense.
With all this attention on the running game, I want to see what JJ McCarthy can do in the passing game, because nobody’s really been paying attention to the fact he’s been a little inaccurate. So, are they looking ahead to the Buckeyes? They might be. This is a tricky game.
So, we shall see how this B1G game of Michigan and Illinois at the Big House plays out on Saturday at noon ET. This very well could be a tricky game and more so will be telling of what’s to come for Michigan-Ohio State next week.
