Darrell Thompson is fired up (and possibly hungry). The former Minnesota running back expressed his enthusiasm with one of America’s favorite food. Bacon is the theme in the battle for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy.
The prize is in the shape of a bronze pig given to the winner of Minnesota vs. Iowa. The Hawkeyes have brought home the bacon the last seven years in a row.
Day 3 of Bacon week gaining momentum. Our crowd is swelling Iowa is joining in the battle for Bacon and Pork consumption. 7 years of drought must come to an end.

Minnesota has not won the rivalry game since a 51-14 win in 2014. It’s been a fairly one-sided affair with the Golden Gophers only winning four additional times since 2000.
The game this year could have division championship implications. Both Minnesota and Iowa are 4-3 inside the conference. They join Illinois and Purdue with the same record.
The Golden Gophers come in sizzling on a 3-game winning streak. The Hawkeyes own a 3-game winning streak of their own. The victor could go a long way in deciding who wins the B1G West and ends up in Indianapolis on Dec. 3.
