Arion Carter is on the market once again. The 4-star linebacker out of Tennessee recently decommited from Memphis.
Carter is listed as the 24th-best linebacker in the class of 2023 by the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He also ranks as the 6th-best player coming out of the state of Tennessee.
A tough break for Memphis, but a gain for everyone else in the market.

“First I’d like to thank the University of Memphis, Coach Silverfield and Coach Hankins for believing in me and developing a relationship with me and developing a relationship with me and my family,” Carter said in a Twitter statement. “I’d like to also thank the Tiger fans for supporting me through my recruitment. After long consideration and talking with my family, I will be decommiting from the University of Memphis and keeping my recruitment open.”
Carter also holds offers from big-time programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, Ole Miss, USC and in-state Tennessee.
