Brevyn Spann-Ford is taking a celebratory pause. The Minnesota tight end announced he will not participate in Senior Day festivities at Huntington Bank Stadium on Saturday. He will still be available for the Golden Golphers’ crucial game against Iowa.
Spann-Ford leads the Golden Gophers in receptions (31) and yards (374) this season. He is leaving open the possibility of returning for a sixth season in 2023.

Spann-Ford has been a bit quiet as of late. The 6-foot-7 target has just 7 receptions for 54 yards over the last three games.
Spann-Ford’s best statistical game came against Penn State when he caught 5 passes for 68 yards and 1 touchdown. Luckily, it hasn’t hurt Minnesota as the Golden Gophers have won three straight games.
Spann-Ford will look to get things going against Iowa. The game could have monumental implications in determining the B1G West winner and a trip to the conference championship game in Indianapolis. Minnesota fans are hoping for a celebration or two in the end-zone from him.
