Chris ‘The Bear’ Fallica discusses betting line for Ohio State-Maryland

No. 2 Ohio State is a heavy favorite on the road Saturday at Maryland. ESPN’s Chris “The Bear” Fallica recently joined Greg McElroy’s “Always College Football” to preview the game.

Fallica acknowledged covering 4 touchdowns is a lot to ask of OSU from a spread perspective.

“I get it with Ohio State-Maryland. It’s a very high number,” Fallica told McElroy. “We have seen the Buckeyes come out, at times this year, start slow and kind of win some games in the second half. We saw them a couple of years ago go to College Park and have to survive a 2-point conversion to win that game.”

Fallica feels the Buckeyes could be due for a letdown.

“I was talking about this last week with the guys prior to the show: just feels like something isn’t right with Ohio State,” Fallica shared. “I don’t necessarily mean maybe not “right,” but I think it might have been 2015 where we expected so much and like we saw all of the stars and all the different parts and it never just clicked perfectly until after the loss to Michigan State when they blew out Michigan and then they blew out Notre Dame and played great in the bowl game.

“Like, they can’t stay healthy at running back. (Miyan) Williams is hurt again. And TreVeyon Henderson, who knows what’s going on with him? Jaxon Smith-Njigba – is he coming back? Is his hamstring still a thing, or is there something else going on there? It just feels like it’s going to be a situation where it’s just not going to all be together at some point. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe next week they’ll come out and play a complete game… They’ve been pretty damn good even without all their guys…”

Despite his numerous concerns with the Buckeyes, Fallica did not fully commit to taking the Terps with the points.

“I could get behind potentially taking Maryland, even though offensively they’ve been so bad in recent weeks,” Fallica said.
