Disaster seems to have struck for Michigan against Illinois.
Star running back and Heisman candidate running back Blake Corum was injured at the end of the first half, taking a helmet to the knee and falling to the ground while favoring it. He’s been taken back to the locker room for further evaluation, though he was mostly walking on his own power. Per the broadcast, Corum was in considerable and visible pain on the ground.
Corum fumbled on the play and it was ruled Illinois ball. For now, the Wolverines lead 7-3 with the Illini driving.
Michigan is already missing the services of fellow start RB Donovan Edwards.
