Chez Mellusi, senior Wisconsin running back, announced that he is coming back for another season in 2023. Mellusi has been unavailable for the last 5 weeks but during the Nebraska game, he came back in a big way to help lead Wisconsin to a 15-14 win.

On 21 attempts, Mellusi recorded a season-high 98 total yards. He helped the Badgers in a second-half comeback on Saturday with several key plays during each possession.

Braelon Allen, the starting running back, has run into his own issues with injuries off and on during the 2022 season. Allen finished with 92 yards on 18 carries with an average of 5.1 yards per attempt against Nebraska.

After transferring from Clemson, Mellusi missed several games late last season after tearing his left ACL and has been hampered by injuries during his time at Wisconsin. Against Northwestern this season, he would end up breaking his arm in the final quarter.

Mellusi admitted that he had some discomfort after the close win against the Huskers but the victory made it worth it.
