One top candidate turned down Nebraska head coach vacancy, per report

With the regular season about to come to a close the candidates for the Nebraska job keep on coming. CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd released a report detailing the latest news.
Dodd reported that one of the top candidates for the job was offered, but turned down the opportunity. Former Carolina Panthers and Baylor HC Matt Rhule turned down the job, sources told Dodd.
This is what Dodd had to say about Rhule’s interest in the job:
Did Matt Rhule turn down the Cornhuskers this weekend? That was the word from several sources. Rhule had been the No. 1 candidate to replace Scott Frost. If Rhule has indeed taken his name out of consideration, that isn’t necessarily a statement about the quality of the job. It’s still a heavy lift for whoever takes Nebraska, but for Rhule, it may be a further indicator that he intends to sit out 2023 to rest and retrench.
Two more names to watch out for in the job opening are Kansas’ Lance Leipold and Washington’s Kalen DeBoer, per Dodd’s report. DeBoer used to be an assistant at Indiana (2019) so he’s already familiar with the B1G.
