Iowa vs. Minnesota in Week 12 ties unique record left untouched since 1986

There was something that happened at the Iowa-Minnesota game that has not happened in quite some time. It wasn’t an offensive explosion by either side.
The Hawkeyes beat the Golden Gophers 13-10, but that wasn’t the only thing that took place. It was the first game since 1986 where zero penalties were called on either team.
The only thing that went wrong was on the Minnesota side. The Golden Gophers had two turnovers, 1 fumble and 1 interception, but no penalties.

With the win, Iowa is now in control of the B1G West after Illinois lost to Michigan. The Hawkeyes are now 7-4 and are in control of their own destiny. This is especially true after beating Purdue, who holds onto second place in the division.
Without Tanner Morgan in the lineup, Minnesota was limited to 87 yards passing from Athan Kaliakmanis. Mohamed Ibrahim had a dominant 263 yards rushing and 1 touchdown.
Regardless of what happened, this is an incredible feat given how many penalties get called in today’s football.
