Kirk Ferentz said that he doesn’t expect several key players to play in Iowa’s game against Nebraska on Friday.

Ferentz said tight end Sam LaPorta and fullback Monte Pottebaum are unlikely to play on Friday. Both players left the Hawkeyes’ game against Minnesota early last week.

The loss of the two players will be critical to the offense. LaPorta has racked up 601 receiving yards and a touchdown on the season.

The Hawkeyes are looking to extend their win streak to four games on Friday and close out the season with an 8-4 record. Iowa currently sits at the top of the B1G West, but hasn’t clinched the division.

The Hawkeyes will need to win on Saturday if they want to clinch the division and take on either Michigan or Ohio State in the B1G Championship.
