Brody Brecht is a rare athlete, playing both baseball and football collegiately. After redshirting the 2021 football season, Brecht got his first collegiate start as a pitcher for the baseball team in the 2022 B1G Tournament.
Now with game experience for both Hawkeyes’ baseball and football, Brecht revealed which sport is closer to his heart. “My whole life, football’s always been my first love,” said the receiver/pitcher.

Brecht has collected 9 catches for 87 yards for the Hawkeyes as a receiver. In baseball, Brecht collected a 1-4 record with a solid 3.18 ERA in the 2021-22 season.
The Hawkeyes football team is looking to secure a 5th-straight win in Week 13 with a home matchup against Nebraska.
