B1G football coaches answer whether or not they can cook on Thanksgiving

B1G football coaches discussed their cooking contributions on Thanksgiving.

The results were mixed from the coaches on whether they can cook in the kitchen for Thanksgiving. Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm was the first to answer and he admitted that he did not trust himself to cook the food on Thanksgiving.

Indiana head coach Tom Allen and Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker did not hold back when revealing that they were not skilled in the kitchen. Tucker said that he had “zero skills in the kitchen.” Penn State head coach James Franklin had a solid excuse for why he does not typically cook on Thanksgiving.

“We usually practice Thanksgiving morning, so that doesn’t really lend itself to cooking,” Franklin said.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh had no interest in cooking on Thanksgiving. When Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz would eat, he would also cook on Thanksgiving. Ohio State Ryan Day did not cook on Thanksgiving, but he would trust himself to cook the meal if he had to.

In a change of pace, Maryland head coach Michael Locksley wasted no time to confirm that he cooks on Thanksgiving. Illinois head coach Bret Bielema loved Thanksgiving and talked about his favorite part of Thanksgiving.

“I’m a big stuffing guy,” Bielema said.

Pat Fitzgerald and PJ Fleck indicated that they enjoy cooking the turkey and preparing it for the family. All of the B1G coaches will use the holiday to get ready for the final week of the regular season.
