Justin Fields is playing great football on the field and he is taking responsibility for the team off the field. Down 27-24 with 1:47 minutes left on the road versus the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11, Fields had a chance to have his offense drive down the field to potentially win the game. Fields threw a costly interception 2 plays after being injured.
After the game, Fields apologized to the entire team for the costly interception to secure the Falcons the 27-24 win. Chicago defensive coordinator Alan Williams responded that Fields shouldn’t have to apologize for his play to give Chicago a chance to win its fourth game of a tough 2022 season.
Bears DC Alan Williams on Justin Fields' apology: “I was sad, really I was sad. Because I go, no. I just go, no. There’s no reason to ever apologize. If you saw the way he works. If you saw the way he uplifts his teammates. If you saw how he sacrificed … No chance."

Fields completed 14-of-21 of his passes for 153 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception as well as rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. The defense of Chicago allowed 280 total yards on only 53 plays for an average of 5.3 yards per play.
In the last 3 games for Chicago, Fields has completed 43-of-69 of his passes for 443 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions as well as rushing for 410 yards and 4 touchdowns on 46 carries.
In a week dominated by storylines of fellow 2021 NFL Draft class quarterback Zach Wilson not taking accountability for the New York Jets’ 10-3 road loss to the New England Patriots in Week 11, Fields takes full accountability like a real leader.
