College GameDay Podcast crew reveals their picks for The Game

The 2022 edition of The Game might be the most highly-anticipated game of the season.

With that in mind, the College GameDay Podcast crew recently revealed their thoughts on the matchup. Rece Davis, Pete Thamel, and Bill Connelly all like Ohio State to end up victorious.

“This game’s going to make you feel stupid one way or another,” said Connelly. “I am going to feel dumb either way, I’m just going to lean on the numbers and say Michigan. No. 1, Michigan’s defense is dynamite.” Connelly likes Michigan to cover, but Ohio State to ultimately get the victory.

“If (Blake) Corum and (Donovan) Edwards could play, if they’re at full strength certainly they can win the game,” said Davis. “I just can’t after last year and building the whole year, I’m going to take Ohio State and lay the points.” Davis points to the fact that the Wolverines are banged up and the Buckeyes will be seeking revenge for 2021.

“The best argument that came up was kind of special teams… You have all these puzzle pieces and I don’t see how they fit,” said Thamel. “I am going to go back to talent… when in doubt, bet on talent and there is just a different level of talent between JT Tuimoloau, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Mike Hall Jr.” Thamel believes the Buckeyes are just too deep for the Wolverines and have more top-end talent.
