A big day from Michigan defensive lineman Chase Winovich didn’t go unnoticed.
Winovich was named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week after racking up six solo stops, four tackles for loss and three sacks in the Wolverines’ 28-10 over Purdue last Saturday. He led Michigan in all three areas.

After his big outing on Saturday, Winovich now leads the B1G in tackles for loss (eight) and sacks (six). He’s also Michigan’s third-leading tackler with 22 stops through four weeks.
Winovich was nightmare for Purdue’s offense on Saturday and he’ll look to carry that momentum into Michigan’s rivalry game against Michigan State in two weeks.
The Wolverines are 4-0 and enter a bye week this Saturday.
