Nicole Auerbach had some thoughts about Matt Rhule being hired as the new head coach at Nebraska.

Discussing the hire on the B1G Tailgate show, the analyst called the hiring a big move in the right direction for the Cornhuskers.

“I think it’s a massive hire from Nebraska’s perspective. It’s someone who’s won everywhere he’s been in college. He’s turned around those two programs, which were not easy to turn around. You need to remember what he walked into at Baylor, coming out of a scandal and to right the ship there. Grand slam really for Nebraska.”

Rhule’s hiring was announced on Saturday, after interim head coach Mickey Joseph led the Cornhuskers to a surprising 24-17 win over Iowa on Friday to end the regular season.

During his collegiate coaching career, Rhule was a combined 47-43 overall at Temple and Baylor. Rhule turned Temple from a 2-10 team in his first season to a 10-3 competitor in his final season in 2016.
