Ohio State received some good news Mike Weber over the weekend, as the running back has been cleared to play for this weekend’s game against Rutgers.
Head coach Urban Meyer updated the status of his running back during Monday’s press conference, saying that he should be back in the lineup as Ohio State returns to conference play on Saturday. Weber didn’t participate in the Buckeyes non-conference finale against UNLV last weekend.
Meyer said RB Mike Weber is cleared and ready to play after not playing vs UNLV. Said Chris Worley is probable for Rutgers.

Weber has been battling a nagging hamstring injury through the early portion of the season, which has limited his playing time. The sophomore has appeared in just two games, taking seven carries for 42 yards.
As a freshman, Weber led the Buckeyes in rushing yards with 1,096 yards and nine touchdowns. He also posted a 6.02 yards per carry average on the year.
Ohio State is currently 3-1 and is 1-0 in conference play. The Buckeyes defeated Indiana in the first week of the season. Rutgers dropped its B1G opener to Nebraska last weekend.
It’ll be interesting to see how Weber works back into the lineup along with freshman J.K. Dobbins, who currently leads the B1G in rushing yardage through four games.
