Sean Clifford might have another player in a quarterback competition at Penn State. In the second quarter of the 35-16 home Week 13 win over Michigan State, Clifford threw a literal pass to wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith where he then launched a pass to a wide-open Theo Johnson for a 48-yard touchdown.
After the game, Clifford joked about the passing of Lambert-Smith:
“I’ve already got Drew (Allar) on my ass. Not you too,” said Clifford.
After Penn State WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith threw his TD pass, QB Sean Clifford told him, “I’ve already got Drew on my a—. Not you too.”

Did any QBs say anything to KeAndre Lambert-Smith after his TD pass to Theo Johnson?

Clifford completed 19-of-24 of his passes for 202 yards and 4 touchdowns Saturday night. Lambert-Smith was the only other player to attempt a pass against Michigan State.
In the win over the Spartans, Lambert-Smith was the leading receiver as he caught 5 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown. Johnson caught 3 receptions for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns.
That trick play was potentially an extra incentive of revenge from Michigan State’s 30-27 win in East Lansing last season. Penn State evens the all-time series 18-18-1 after the win over Michigan State in Week 13.
No. 11 Penn State finished the regular season with an overall record of 10-2 and a 7-2 in B1G play.
