Kirk Herbstreit has a new top 4 after a wild Rivalry Week that saw the upset of several top teams.

The analyst updated the list after the end of the Notre Dame-USC game, where the Trojans took care of the Irish 38-27 to hold on to their positioning. Herbstreit’s updated top 4 teams are Georgia, Michigan, TCU and USC. Alabama and Ohio State are on the outside looking in sitting at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

One of the biggest takeaways from Rivalry Week was Ohio State’s 45-23 loss to Michigan at home on Saturday. LSU’s 23-38 loss to Texas A&M was another upset that shook up the rankings this week. Heading into Rivalry Week LSU was ranked fifth, and USC was ranked sixth.

Paul Finebaum had the same top 4 as Herbstreit when he unveiled his list of “Rank & File” teams Sunday morning, but the two differed on the No. 5 spot. We’ll see which analyst the committee agrees with on Tuesday.
