Jeff Brohm updated Aidan O’Connell’s status for the B1G title game on Saturday with Michigan. O’Connell shared the news about his brother’s death after the Indiana game.

Brohm stated at Monday’s press conference that he expects O’Connell to play in Saturday’s game after he takes of everything he needs to.

“He’ll play Saturday I believe. He’ll be back here in the next day or two when he takes care of what he needs to take care of.”

O’Connell had 290 yards passing with 2 touchdowns in the battle for the Old Oaken Bucket. Many people thought that O’Connell was emotional because of the win, but he confirmed that it was because his brother Sean had passed away.

It must have been hard for O’Connell to focus on playing Indiana with this recent tragedy on his mind. Boilermakers fans will be glad to have O’Connell back in the lineup, but will surely understand if he needs some time to process things.
