Matt Rhule has been the head coach at Nebraska for a very brief amount of time, but he’s already embracing the Cornhusker culture.

He did his introductory press conference and went straight to Twitter just after. He tweeted “GBR,” or Go Big Red with a picture of his 2 daughters in front of his picture filled with excitement.

Rhule hinted that he would only return to coaching for the right job shortly after parting ways with the Carolina Panthers, and it seems like Nebraska is the program for him. After pure dominance in the 90s, the program has fallen on rough times this century despite a few successful seasons.

Luckily for the Cornhuskers, Rhule has a knack for building up struggling programs — first with Temple, then Baylor. With all of its history and status as a blue blood program, Nebraska is a sleeping giant waiting for the right leader. Rhule hopes to be that guy.
