Co-OCs Matt Weiss and Sherrone Moore and DC Jesse Minter have done a great job at taking over their roles in their first season at the helm. Some credit should also go to Steve Clinkscale (Co-DC) on the defensive side of the ball.
Very few teams have been able to hang with the Wolverines this season. Maryland and Illinois were the only teams to have come close to beating them.
Last year’s winner was Michigan State’s Mel Tucker. Tucker coached the Spartans to an 11-2 record in his second season on the job.
The title of B1G Coach of the Year is staying in Michigan for another season it seems.
