Ohio State had a tough challenge with Duke on the schedule. The Buckeyes were not able to earn a win against the Blue Devils in the ACC/B1G Challenge on Wednesday.

Ohio State lost to Duke by a score of 81-72. The Buckeyes are now 5-2 on the year after the loss.

This was despite the performance that Zed Key had. Key finished the game with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist. Key also went 7-for-9 from the field, shooting a solid 78% from the floor.

Even though Ohio State did not beat Duke, the Buckeyes only lost by nine points to one of college basketball’s blue-blood programs.

Ohio State could not keep up with Duke when it was all said and done. Both teams battled heading into halftime, but Ohio State found itself down 39-29.

The Buckeyes only losses so far have come from Duke and San Diego State (Nov. 21). Chris Holtmann’s team will have a game to recover from this loss. Up next is a game with St. Francis (PA) at home before the conference opener with Rutgers on Dec. 8.
