Nebraska picked up one of the biggest basketball wins in the past couple of years Sunday afternoon, knocking off No. 7 Creighton, 63-53.

That’s easily Fred Hoiberg’s best win of his tenure at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are off to a sneaky good start this season, having won 6 of their first 9 games, only losing to strong teams such as St. Johns, Memphis and Oklahoma.

Sunday was Nebraska’s first regular season win over the Bluejays in Omaha since 1995.

Derrick Walker and Sam Griesel were the stars of the game for the Huskers. They combined for 40 points, with Griesel dropping a double-double and Walker leading all scorers for the huge win.

The going doesn’t get any easier for Nebraska. To keep their win streak, the Huskers would have to down Indiana and Purdue back-to-back before facing Kansas State.

The Huskers travel to Bloomington, Indiana on Dec. 7.
