Jeff Brohm has produced a strong tenure in West Lafayette, going 36-34 overall and producing back-to-back 8-win seasons for Purdue. However, one key job opening up has lit a fire on social media.

Early Monday morning, Cincinnati announced Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield as the new head coach of the Bearcats. Satterfield had been at Louisville since 2019 and will now become the head coach expected to lead Cincinnati through its transition into the Big 12.

As most fans know, Brohm has a deep connection to the Cardinals program. Brohm threw for over 5,400 yards with 38 touchdowns while playing for Louisville in the late 1980s and early 90s. He also served on the Louisville coaching staff from 2003-08 as a part of the coaching staffs for Bobby Petrino and Steve Kragthorpe.

At this point, anything connecting Brohm to the Louisville vacancy is pure speculation, but fans on social media were quick to connect the head coach to the vacancy. We’ll see how this shakes out and if Louisville has any interest on trying to lure Brohm out of Purdue.
