Penn State’s Jason Cabinda named Lott IMPACT Player of the Week

Penn State linebacker Jason Cabinda has been recognized for his outstanding performance on Saturday against Indiana.

Cabinda was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy Player of the Week, according the Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman. The linebacker recorded 14 stops and 1.5 tackles for loss in the Nittany Lions’ 45-14 win over the Hoosiers.

Penn State earned $1,000 towards its general scholarship fund for the recognition.

Through five games, Cabinda ranks six in the B1G in total tackles with 35. He’s also recorded three tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery on the year.

Penn State is sitting at 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in B1G play. The Nittany Lions travel to Northwestern this weekend to battle the Wildcats.
