Nick Bosa had a pretty good week for the San Francisco 49ers. The former Ohio State star took home NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors after San Francisco’s 33-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

Bosa recorded 3 sacks, including 2 tackles for loss and a forced fumble in the win. The 6-foot-4, 266-pound defensive end now has 14.5 sacks on the season. Bosa has recorded at least 1 sack in each of his last six games.

Bosa is in his fourth season with the 49ers after being drafted by the team in 2019 out of Ohio State. His 14.5 sacks are 1 shy of his career high of 15.5 set last season. Bosa missed much of the 2020 season with a torn ACL and recorded 9 sacks in his rookie season.

San Francisco is currently 8-4 in the NFC West with Bosa leading the charge. However, the 49ers will need to win moving forward without starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The QB suffered a foot injury and will miss up to 8 weeks. Let’s see if San Francisco leans on Bosa and its defense more moving forward.
