CJ Stroud is taking a relaxed approach to being in New York for the annual Heisman Trophy award ceremony. After all, it is his second time in the city for the same ceremony.
Stroud is the first ever Buckeye to be a finalist for the award two years running since 1982, having also been named a finalist in 2021. Only winners went to the ceremony before 1982.
The Ohio State QB joins USC QB Caleb Williams, TCU QB Max Duggan and Georgia QB Stetson Bennett as the finalists for one of college football’s top prizes.

The Buckeye QB spoke to the press about his second appearance in the Big Apple.
This year, I’m more relaxed and just being myself. I know where stuff is. It’s kind of weird, but it’s kind of cool. I’m just blessed to be here again and represent my school. I put in the work to be in this moment, but at the same time, I’ve had teammates that have been right there with me. I wouldn’t be here without any of my teammates, my linemen, my receivers, my defense, my running backs, my tight ends, everybody.
The Heisman Trophy ceremony will be televised live at 8 p.m. ET Saturday on ESPN.
