Report: Stanford finds replacement for former HC David Shaw

The search for a new head coach has ended for Stanford, as the school has named Troy Taylor as the replacement for outgoing coach David Shaw.
Shaw was the winningest coach in Cardinal history, despite coming off of their third losing season in the past four years. With news of Shaw’s departure, Stanford lost 16 current players to the transfer portal, and 2 top recruits as well. Due to the Cardinal not having a coach, they missed out on opportunities to collect experienced players from the transfer portal as well.
On Saturday it was confirmed that Sacramento State’s Troy Taylor would be filling the vacant spot at HC per Sacramento Bee’s Joe Davidson.

Taylor played QB for California from 1986-1989, setting several conference and school records before being drafted by the New York Jets in 1990. Taylor played for a year in the NFL before turning his talents towards coaching.
Before heading to Sacramento State, Taylor was the OC/QB coach for the Utah Utes from 2017-2018.
