Kenneth Walker III was dearly missed when Seattle hosted the Carolina Panthers Sunday evening. He left early in Seattle’s Week 13 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Seahawks have a short week hopping from a Week 14 loss to Week 15, playing Brock Purdy and San Francisco on Thursday night. Still, things are looking up for Walker’s chances of getting back out on the turf.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Walker was limited in practice Monday afternoon, a step forward from his previous practice status.

Walker has been one of the top offensive rookies in the league this season. He’s rushed for 649 yards and 9 touchdowns in 11 games, really only starting to see real action towards the middle of the season when injuries forced him into the limelight.

The Seahawks are right in the thick of things in the NFL Playoff race, just behind Washington and New York and 2 games back of the 49ers, who they host Thursday night. With just a few games remaining on the schedule, the time to prove they belong starts then.

Walker would provide a major boon to their chances of reaching the postseason.
