Luke Fickell has already started making waves, hoping to turn the tide at Wisconsin as he takes over as head coach.

Wisconsin inked a contract with Fickell in November for the head coach position left open by the firing of Paul Chryst. Since his hiring, Madison has been a bevy of activity as Fickell adds to his staff, including new OC Phil Longo.

Longo is a proponent of the Air Raid offense, a drastic change from Wisconsin’s traditional run-heavy schemes. Prior to coming to Wisconsin, Longo was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for North Carolina, where elite QBs Sam Howell and Drake Maye excelled under his mentorship.

For Longo’s Air Raid offense to work at Wisconsin, the Badgers must recruit top QB talent. Asked what Wisconsin will be looking for in a QB recruit, Fickell stated that it comes down to how well the QB can move.

Fickell, Longo, and a new Wisconsin offense will be on display as the Badgers take on Oklahoma State in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Dec 27.
