Ryan Walters has a plan to reignite the fire in the Purdue football program as he takes over as head coach.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Walters laid out a plan of attack for the Boilermakers and mentioned some of the changes coming to the program.
“Together, with the staff that we are going to bring in with the administration, with this university and with y’all’s support, we are going to build this program the right way,” Walters said. “Through hard work, through class, through integrity, and an unmatched competitive edge to go chase and win championships. We are not shying away from any of that.”

Walters was named head coach of the Boilermaker program after Jeff Brohm vacated the position to head to Louisville. Under Walters’ leadership, the Illini had one of the top defenses, and led the nation in points allowed per game, and were second in total offensive yards allowed per game.
The Boilermakers will play LSU in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Jan. 2 in Orlando.
👏 Leadership on full display! An exciting day for @BoilerFootball, @LifeAtPurdue and Boilermakers everywhere.
