Blake Corum had a fantastic 2022 season for the Michigan Wolverines. The star running back was named the recipient of the 2022 Chicago Tribune Silver Football, which is given to the best B1G player as voted by the head coaches in the conference.

Last year, Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was the recipient of the award.

Corum rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns on 247 attempts as well as adding 11 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. He was voted 7th place in the 2022 Heisman Trophy race as he could have been a finalist had a knee injury not kept him out of the B1G title game.

Corum received 14 total points for the awards as well as 5 first-place votes and 4 second-place votes. Heisman Trophy finalist in Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud received 8 total points, 3 first-place votes, and 2 second-place votes.

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim, Nebraska wide receiver Trey Palmer, and Illinois cornerback Devon Witherspoon were the other players to receive first-place votes for the award.
