Michigan State picked up a solid recruit out of California Friday afternoon.

Class of 2023 3-star athlete Sean Brown committed to the Spartans over Arizona, Colorado State, Washington State and BYU.

Brown is the No. 935 player in the nation, the No. 91 ranked player at his position and the No. 83 player in California according to the 247Sports Composite.

Brown hails from Simi Valley, California and attends Simi Valley High School. His 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame adds some size and athleticism to Michigan State next season.

Brown announced his commitment through a hype video featuring some icy Spartan uniforms and a photo shoot in the snow inside Spartan Stadium.

Brown’s commitment adds to the No. 24 recruiting class in the nation, which features nine 4-star recruits. The Spartans are in need of a big showing from their recruiting class. Michigan State won just five games last season and is looking to get things back on track in 2023.
