John O’Korn was doing everything he could to pick up a few extra yards against Michigan State on Saturday. Literally everything.
Late in Saturday’s rivalry game between Michigan and Michigan State, O’Korn was pushed out of bounds by a Spartan defender and tucked and rolled out of bounds. Pretty harmless.
But as the Wolverines quarterback returned to his feet, he appeared to get yanked down by someone on the Michigan State sideline. Or so he’d have you believe. When you look at the video, it’s pretty clear that nobody took an extra shot at O’Korn.
Instead, it was just a flop that netted Michigan 15 yards:

The rain was coming down pretty heavily at the time, so it’s possible that O’Korn lost his footing and just sold it as a late hit. Regardless, there shouldn’t have been a penalty issued on Michigan State.
Whatever it takes to win. Or in the case, just get a few extra yards.
The extra yardage wasn’t too costly, as the Spartans went on to knock off the Wolverines 14-10 in the Big House.
