Greg Gard had high praise for Patriot League’s Lehigh following Wisconsin’s 22-point win on Thursday. The Badgers beat Lehigh by a score of 78-56.
The seventh-year head coach complimented the Mountain Hawks for their experience and said they had one of their best games of the season against Wisconsin.
They are good. You watch them on film, you see what I saw in the first half. They’re an experienced team. I thought they played much better tonight than I had seen them play all year. They obviously took their 12 days between their last game and figured some stuff out. They got back to things that will make them competitive in that league.
At the half, Wisconsin trailed by a point due to Lehigh’s fast start. The Badgers came out in the second half and had an offensive explosion, guiding them to a double-digit win over the Mountain Hawks.
The Badgers shot a hyper-efficient 51% from the field and 52% from deep. Forward Steven Crowl led the way with 15 points in the win.
Wisconsin currently sits at 9-2 and is riding a four-game win streak with an impressive win over Maryland. The Badgers will get two more tune ups against Grambling (Dec. 23) and Western Michigan (Dec. 30) before facing Minnesota on Jan. 3.
