Ohio State basketball drops OT thriller, falls to UNC in Madison Square Garden

Ohio State and North Carolina participated in a thrilling game in Madison Square Garden on Saturday.

With 4.1 seconds left in regulation, the game was tied at 77. Brice Sensabaugh then hit a jump shot from the elbow to give the Buckeyes a 2-point lead with 2.0 seconds remaining.

The shot seemed like it would be enough to give the Buckeyes the victory. However, Peter Nance received the inbound pass just outside of the paint and hit a fadeaway jumper as the clock expired. The shot tied the game at 79 and forced overtime.

Unfortunately, the Buckeyes could not keep up with the Tar Heels in OT. The Tar Heels scored 10 points compared to the Buckeyes’ 5 in extra time. The Tar Heels would win the game 89-84, improving to 8-4 on the season.

The loss was the 3rd of the season for the Buckeyes, who fall to 7-3.
