Illinois has added a potential answer for the loss of star cornerback Devon Witherspoon, if that’s possible at least. The Illini gained a commitment from 3-star JUCO cornerback Kaleb Patterson Sunday morning.
Patterson played at Pearl River Community College and will have 3 years of eligibility remaining for the Illini moving forward.

Patterson is considered to be the No. 20 JUCO prospect in the 2023 class and the No. 4 JUCO cornerback. He chose the Illini over Indiana, Coastal Carolina and Memphis, among others.
He stands at 6-foot-2, 186 pounds and is the 2nd JUCO prospect to commit to Illinois this cycle, joining Dez’Mond Schuster.
